Notes

We still haven’t seen deer while scouting or hunting the lake, but continue to see a lot of tracks. The other spots we’ve hunted close to the water near Highway 27 have been a bust so far and this spot, while off of the water a bit and closer to the road, is also shaping up to be the same.

This public land hunting is proving to be a real challenge and I am not backing down. After all, I prefer fishing a lake over pond every time for that same exact reason!

Tracks near the road about 60 yards from where we set up.

I’m thinking of heading back to the first spot we hunted next week, and scouting a couple of more spots around the lake when we get done around noon. There are still so many places to scout and hunt, so we are just getting started. We should really have a good bank of spots come next year.

Y’all have a good one!
